Zendaya is an American actress who got her start from Disney channel and now part of the Marvel family as she plays MJ in the new Spider Man movies. Monitoring her follower count has been a bit different in comparison to Marcus Rashford as most her followers in her later career were less related to political issues but mores her links with the Marvel movies and her role in Euphoria, one of the most watched HBO series.

Her first spike in relation to political posts came in August 2017, gaining 728,897 followers when she posted a video from a Black Lives Matter march. The significance to this video is that the peaceful march became violent as people with confederate flags came to oppose the march. Zendaya was outraged by this, as a black woman. This post was made for more of an awareness rather than doing anything else. There was no follow up posts but she still gained followers from the post. Her next spike came in September 2020, with 479,401 followers after being the cover of the most important annual issue to the magazine Vogue, the September issue sets the tone for the next year of fashion and is a holy grail in the fashion world. Zendaya’s covered showed her wearing all black designers, showing a spotlight on designers who do not get as much recognition in the fashion world. Unlike Marcus Rashford her statements seem to be slightly empty, with little being done about any issues or seeing actual change. While she does use her platform to support the black community, nothing solid has really come from it other than solidarity.
